Things to do in Punta Cana
Punta Cana is both a name and a source of confusion: it is the cape at the eastern tip of the Dominican Republic, and it is the shorthand most travellers use for the whole resort belt running from Bavaro up to Uvero Alto.
Bavaro, Cap Cana, Uvero Alto and Macao are separate sectors, not synonyms for Punta Cana, and mixing them up changes your transfer time. Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) sits 15-40 minutes by road from most Bavaro and Cap Cana hotels, longer for anything further north.
